Italian utility A2A SpA (BIT:A2A) has clinched a deal with Enfinity Global Inc to procure the electricity from 134 MW of solar parks owned by the US renewables developer and operator in Italy.

The parties said on Wednesday they have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the output of photovoltaic (PV) farms in the Lazio and Emilia Romagna regions. The power procurement will run for 10 years.

The contracted electricity volumes are equal to the annual power consumption of about 86,000 Italian homes and will mitigate roughly 104,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The names of the solar plants covered by the PPAs were not specified.

"Thanks to this new partnership with Enfinity Global, we continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the territories by expanding the green energy supply available to our customers," said Lorenzo Spadoni, head of Generation and Trading at A2A.

The latest power off-take deals are not the first ones between A2A and Enfinity. Last October, the utility committed to buying 160 GWh of electricity per year from 97 MW of Enfinity’s solar projects in Lazio under a PPA that will come into force in July 2025.
