Acciona Energia hooks to grid 33-MW wind farm in Poland

Jul 3, 2013 - Acciona Energia, part of Spanish infrastructure and renewable energy firm Acciona (MCE:ANA), announced today the successful connection to the grid of its second wind farm in Poland with a total capacity of 33 MW.

The facility is situated in the municipality of Krobia, western Poland. It will be able to produce around 82 GWh of electricity, thus powering over 40,000 households and avoiding 79,000 tonnes of CO2.

With the new wind farm, Acciona is expected to boost its positions on the Polish green energy market. The Polish wind power sector has shown considerable growth rates over the recent years. In 2012, the installed wind power capacity in the country increased by 53% to reach an aggregate figure of 2,547 MW, according to data of Navigant Consulting.
