Spanish renewables pure-player Acciona Energia (BME:ANE) has scheduled the commissioning of its 27-MW Opor wind farm in Croatia for April 2025, the company said today.

Acciona Energia is currently building the wind farm in three villages in the Split-Dalmatia region, southern Croatia, after investing more than EUR 37 million (USD 40m) in the project.

Opor will consist of six pieces of the Nordex N149 wind turbines, each of 4.5 MW of unit capacity and hub height of 105 metres. Once online, the wind farm will be capable of generating around 75 GWh of electricity on average each year, or enough to power some 15,650 homes.

Acciona Energia is constructing Opor concurrently with the 45-MW Boraja II wind project in Croatia. Both Opor and Boraja II will benefit from a 12-year contract for difference (CfD) with the Croatian power and gas regulator Hrvatski operator trzista energije (HROTE). The CfD was awarded in a public auction as part of a programme launched by the Croatian government and HROTE and with the approval of the European Commission.

Commissioning of the Boraja II is scheduled for May 2025.

At present, Acciona Energia has one wind farm in Croatia, the 30-MW Jelinak, which has been in operation since 2013.
