Spanish renewables pure-player Acciona Energia (BME:ANE) will supply renewable electricity to public entities in Portugal under an agreement with the Portuguese Public Administration Shared Services Entity (eSPap).

Under the terms, all the energy the company will deliver will have 100% renewable Guarantees of Origin certificates issued by the Guarantees of Origin Issuing Body (EEGO) platform, Acciona announced on Wednesday.

Once it receives the energy, eSPap will supply it to Portuguese government and public agencies on a free-market basis and in a centralised manner. eSpap centralises purchasing and contracting for various public entities in Portugal, including electricity.

Acciona said this is the first time eSPap offers 100% renewable energy as a supply option.

Currently, the Spanish firm has 166 MW of renewable generation assets in Portugal, including wind and solar facilities.
