IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CESTNov 12, 2013 - Acciona Windpower, part of Spanish infrastructure and renewable energy firm Acciona (MCE:ANA), is seen to have signed a supply contract for 100 wind turbines of the AW 116/3000 model in Texas, the USA, Spanish daily Cinco Dias quoted sector sources yesterday.
The deal, estimated at USD 400 million (EUR 298.7m), envisages the supply of a total 300 MW to two wind farms in the USA and is the firm's biggest order in the country, the sources added.
The delivery of the turbines is expected to take place in 2014-2015. Moreover, Acciona has also signed an operation and maintenance services contract for the turbines for a period of 10 years.
The order backlog of Acciona for the AW 3000 model totals 1,300 MW to be used in wind farms in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Poland, Chile and South Africa.
