Chilean agribusiness Garces Fruit signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Acciona SA (BME:ANA) to cover its total electricity consumption in Chile with 100% renewables.

The Spanish power producer, through its Acciona Chile unit, said it had started delivering the contracted supply in February this year. The customer’s fruit processing plants in the Maule and O’Higgins regions will be sent electricity from Acciona’s portfolio of wind and solar power in the country.

Acciona’s corporate customer portfolio in Chile includes telecommunications operator Movistar, technology giant Google, retail chain Falabella and other private and state-owned companies.
