Acta strikes distribution deal with Australia's Sefca

Jun 26, 2012 - Italian clean energy products firm Acta SpA (LON:ACTA) today said its electrolysers for hydrogen generation and related products would be distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Australian fuel cell company Sefca Pty Ltd.

The immediate aim of the marketing and distribution agreement inked by the companies is to incorporate the electrolysers into Sefca's fuel cell back-up power systems and market them to telecommunications groups in the region.

Acta said the Australian market offered particularly attractive conditions for on-site hydrogen production from electrolysis because of its high hydrogen costs and the logistic difficulties of delivering fuel to remote locations. Through using Acta's electrolysers for onboard generation of hydrogen, Sefca is seeking to bring down the service costs of its fuel cell back-up power products, especially for telecom base stations, according to the announcement.
