PNE wins 24 MW of onshore wind projects in German auction
Sep 19, 2024 8:35 CESTA unit of UK marine contractor Acteon has secured a three-year contract to provide subsea balance of plant operations and maintenance (O&M) services to the 288-MW Butendiek offshore wind farm located in German waters of the North Sea.
The wind turbine supplier to the project, Siemens Gamesa, awarded the contract to UTEC, a geo-services brand in Acteon’s Data and Robotics division, Acteon said on Tuesday.
Acteon brands Clarus, Deepwater and Seatronics will provide support services.
The scope of the contract includes annual subsea foundation remotely operated underwater vehicle inspections, array cable and foundation seabed survey, and corrosion protection survey covering the wind turbines and the offshore substation. UTEC will perform a multibeam echosounder seabed survey of the array cables and substation and turbine scour protection, while Deepwater’s POLATRAK Drop Cell - DC II equipment will be used for the corrosion protection survey, Acteon said.
The Butendiek wind farm is situated around 32 kilometres (19.9 miles) west of the island of Sylt. It is made up of 80 pieces of the Siemens Gamesa SWT-3.6-120 wind turbines of 3.6 MW each, which started operation in 2015.
The project is currently owned by a consortium consisting of CITIC Pacific Limited, Industriens Pensionsforsikring, ITOCHU Corporation, Greencoat Renewables, Wpd AG and Octopus Energy Generation.
