NTPC’s green energy arm eyes USD 1.2bn from Indian IPO
Sep 19, 2024 11:52 CESTPrivate equity firm Actis announced today the launch of a new Peruvian independent power producer (IPP) that will seek to position itself as a leading renewables platform with a pipeline of more than 12 GW in projects.
The launch of Orygen comes shortly after the UK-based investor wrapped up the acquisition of Italian utility Enel SpA’s (BIT:ENEL) stakes in two Peruvian power generation companies.
Orygen enters the local market with 2.2 GW of diversified energy generation installed capacity, boasting the largest renewable energy portfolio. Its current assets include four different technologies -- solar, wind, hydroelectric and thermal gas.
The new entity will be led by Marco Fragale as chief executive officer (CEO).
“Under the skilled leadership of Marco we’re confident that Orygen will play a critical role in Peru’s energy transition. I look forward to continuing the work to create a successful and valuable platform,” said Alberto Estefan, partner for energy infrastructure at Actis.
