NTPC’s green energy arm eyes USD 1.2bn from Indian IPO
Sep 19, 2024 11:52 CESTSaudi Arabia’s ACWA Power has won the right to build two solar power plants in Ethiopia with a combined capacity of 250 MW, having offered a tariff of USD 0.02526 (EUR 0.0228) per kWh.
The Public Private Partnership Board (PPP Board) in Ethiopia made the announcement last Wednesday, saying that the winning bid is the lowest one in Africa and one of the lowest on a global basis.
The competitive bidding process concerned the Gad and Dicheto sites in the Somali and Afar Regional States.
PPP Board said that there were 12 shortlisted companies, of which seven visited the project site and only five submitted proposals. ACWA Power qualified for the technical and financial requirement of the bid, the statement says.
