ADP puts on stream solar farm at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport

May 29, 2013 - Paris airports operator Aeroports de Paris (EPA:ADP), or ADP, has put on stream a solar farm of 792 polycrystaline panels, covering a surface of 4,000 sq m (43,060 sq ft), at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.
The solar farm, which is a ground installation, will produce annually 157 MWh of electricity, which will be directly added to ADP's grid network. Thanks to the photovoltaic facility, the group will be able to save seven tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year.
The project has been carried out in cooperation with the French General Directorate of Civil Aviation.
Aeroports de Paris wants to serve as an example of sustainable development, Didier Hamon, secretary general of the group, said. He added that the company has taken specific commitments, especially in the sphere of energy management and energy efficiency, all of which are in compliance with the existing legislation in France.
