Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTAES El Salvador announced on Wednesday it will invest USD 33.1 million (EUR 26.8m) to improve its power distribution system in the country.
The local unit of AES Corporation (NYSE:AES), will use its distribution companies -- CAESS, CLESA, EEO and DEUSEM -- to expand the coverage of its supply chain, modernise equipment and vehicle fleet, and improve the service to its customers.
The company highlights the USD-20-million investment to modernise the electricity distribution network as one of the most important projects to be executed this year. It will ensure a continued flow of energy and reduce the time to attend to service failures, the firm explained.
Other important projects are the increase in electricity coverage in rural areas and the addition of new distribution lines to replace those made by private individuals that do not meet the technical standards of the country, AES El Salvador noted.
