Norwegian civil engineering and construction group AF Gruppen ASA (OSL:AFG) said today it will take part in the construction of two wind farms in Sweden totalling 86 MW.

The contract was secured by AF Gruppen’s Kanonaden Entreprenad subsidiary and is worth SEK 160 million (USD 19.3m/EUR 15.8m), excluding VAT. The name of the assignor was not disclosed.

The deal will see the Norwegian company work on the construction of roads and foundations of the wind parks, as well as on the excavation and backfilling for the electricity grid.

The two wind parks will be built at an unnamed location in southern Sweden. To be equipped with a total of 20 turbine generators, they will be capable of producing enough electricity to cover the annual power demand of around 44,000 homes.

AG Gruppen noted it is currently working on several construction assignments but did not provide any details about the specific projects.
