Qair’s Green Switch wins permit for 50-MW British PV park
Sep 20, 2024 5:48 CESTAfghanistan’s national power utility Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) plans to install more than 15 MW of solar arrays on the rooftops of government and residential buildings in Kabul city.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has committed to provide financing for the project, DABS’s head Amanullah Ghalib told media, as cited by The Kabul Times. According to Ghalib, the utility will cover 50% of the solar system expenses for customers if the bank fulfills its promise. The company will also assist clients in the installation of the equipment.
The plan calls for the deployment of up to 15 MW of solar power generating capacity on top of buildings owned by government institutions. This will happen by the end of next year.
In a second phase, the project will see solar power systems being installed for DABS customers across a portion of the city.
