AES Andes pledges USD 3bn in new solar, storage mega-projects in Chile
Sep 09, 2024 8:07 CESTSwedish energy and infrastructure consultancy AFRY (STO:AFRY) announced today that it has been hired by UK-based renewables firm PowerTree to provide detailed engineering services for the deployment of 45 MW of new solar power capacity and associated electrical interconnection in Chile.
The Nordic company will work on a portfolio of 15 distinct solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, each having a capacity of 3 MW. The sites span from the north to the south of the country, a press release said.
London-headquartered PowerTree is an independent power producer (IPP) active in the renewables sector. It develops, builds and manages solar plants, primarily in South America. The company has a 1.2-GW pipeline of projects under development and about 30% of its schemes are ready to enter the construction phase, its website says.
