BESS firm AESI plans Malaysian factory, enters new partnerships
Sep 12, 2024 12:13 CESTSwedish energy and infrastructure consultancy AFRY (STO:AFRY) announced today that it has been hired as owner’s engineer for a solar project with a capacity of about 30 MW to be built in the Malaysian state of Kedah.
The contract was signed with a subsidiary of Malaysian electricity utility company Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). AFRY will be engaged in the project management, design review and monitoring of the construction and commissioning phases.
The Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) project will be located in Pekan Labu Besar and will be equipped with ground-mounted single axis solar trackers. The site’s output has already been contracted under a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with an unnamed commercial power consumer.
The agreement comes as the latest for AFRY in Malaysia where the company has already completed more than 110 power sector assignments.
