Albania okays 70.6 MW of solar projects

The government of Albania on Wednesday approved applications for the installation of two solar farms with a combined capacity of 70.56 MW in the south-central part of the Balkan country.

A company called Albania Power Core received the green light to build a 40.56-MW solar farm in the village of Sheq Marina in Fier municipality, according to the government’s resolution.

The second project was submitted by the company Alb Sun Energy, which can now install its proposed 30-MW park in Povelce village in Fier.

Both companies can operate their plants for 49 years from the date the resolution entered into force, the notice stated.
