Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTAlbanian state-owned power utility Korporata Elektroenergjitike Shqiptare (KESH) has received a licence to produce electricity at the Qyrsaq photovoltaic plant, local media reported on Wednesday.
The 5.14 MWp solar park is the first project of its kind in the country and the region, Albanian Daily News quoted prime minister Edi Rama as saying.
The photovoltaic plant, situated on the surface of the Qyrsaq dam feeding the Vau i Dejes hydropower plant, was put into operation in February. It has an average annual production of 7,019 MWh, enough to supply 1,900 households, KESH data showed.
KESH owns and operates three large hydropower plants with a total capacity of 1,350 MW that produce almost 70% of Albania's electricity.
