TIRANA (Albania), January 11 (SeeNews) – Albania's state-owned power corporation KESH applied for a building permit for the construction of a 5.143 megawatt peak (MWp) solar park in the northern part of the country, the energy ministry said.

The solar park will be located at the Qyrsaqi dam of Vau i Dejes hydro power plant, the energy ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The ministry provided no details on the cost and timetable of the project.

Albania produces over 90% of its electricity from hydropower plants, most of which are located along the Drin river, in the northern part of the country.
