Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTFrench renewable power producer Albioma SA (EPA:ABIO) has been selected to complete the roster of companies that will deliver a 10-MW geothermal plant project on the Caribbean island of Nevis.
NRE International Inc (NREI), the co-developer of the Nevis Geothermal Project with the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), announced on Friday that the construction and operations team is now complete and ready to move on to the building stage.
Albioma has joined Schlumberger Integrated Drilling Services (IDS), of Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB), a drilling company that was hired last year to install geothermal production and injection wells.
Schlumberger’s geothermal unit GeothermEx has designed the wells and will conduct reservoir testing once the wells are completed.
Clemessy, of French civil engineering group Eiffage SA (EPA:FGR), will be responsible for the construction of the plant and system integration, while US-based Power Engineers will provide owner’s representative service, quality control and inspections, NREI said.
Once in service, the geothermal plant will allow the Caribbean island, one of two that make up the nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, to become 100% reliant on zero emission renewable energy power generation, according to NREI.
