Low Carbon unveils plan for 500-MW solar-storage hub in Kent
Nov 13, 2024 7:09 CESTSustainable infrastructure investor Alcazar Energy Partners announced today that it has signed a pact with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) for the implementation of an onshore wind project with a targeted capacity of a 2 GW.
The parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the scheme which is aligned with Egypt’s 2030 Vision, a press statement says.
Once commissioned, the wind farm will have an output that is enough to meet the power needs of more than 1.3 million households annually. The project’s implementation is expected to engage up to 12,500 construction workers and 1,170 full-time employees.
“This partnership with EETC and NREA highlights our mutual commitment to supporting Egypt’s energy transition through large-scale, sustainable infrastructure projects,” said Daniel Calderon, co-founder of Alcazar Energy Partners.
