World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTChinese solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS) has clinched a deal for the distribution of around 600 MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules in Latin America.
The agreement was signed between JinkoSolar’s principal operating subsidiary Jinko Solar Co Ltd and Brazil-based Aldo Solar, a solar distributor which holds a 30% share of the domestic distributed generation (DG) segment. JinkoSolar said on Friday that the arrangement calls for the Brazilian firm to bring to the Latin American market its N-Type modules of the Tiger Neo family.
The new line modules will be offered by Aldo for pre-sale starting in July. They will be first available in Brazil, according to the statement.
"I am sure that in the next two or three years it will be the main panel technology available on the market," said Aldo’s founder and CEO Aldo Teixeira.
At the end of last year, JinkoSolar and Aldo inked a deal for the distribution of 2 GW of Tiger Pro panels for DG projects in Brazil. The Chinese firm then said the deal was the largest distribution agreement for DG ever signed by its principal operating subsidiary outside of China.
