Slovenian investment fund Alfi Renewables d.o.o and Serbian diversified holding MK Group on Wednesday inaugurated a 105.6-MW wind farm in Serbia, the first such facility in the eastern part of the Balkan country.

The Krivaca Wind Park, touted as one of the largest in Southeast Europe, is located near the village of Golubac. It will generate 310 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to power 75,000 homes, a press statement said.

Spanning 56 square meters (602.7 sq ft), the facility is equipped with 22 Nordex turbines, each 179 meters high, with 74-meter-long blades, and is supported by a newly built transformer station. The wind farm has a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in place with Swiss energy trader Axpo Holding.

The EUR-165-million (USD 178.7m) project was realised in just over two years. It was financed by a bank syndicate including Erste Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, OeEB and NLB.
