Astronergy secures 1 GW of solar module orders in Algeria
Sep 03, 2024 14:46 CESTAlgeria’s energy ministry is seeking bids in a tender for the installation of 150 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity across the country’s Southeast region.
The tender was issued by the Regulatory Commission for Electricity and Gas (CREG) last weekend. In addition to the construction of the solar parks, it also calls for the provision of operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a total of 15 solar plants, each with a capacity of 10 MW.
Interested parties will be able to submit bids by February 19, 2019. Technical offers will be open on the same day, according to the tender notice.
Five plants, or 50 MW of the overall tendered capacity, will be installed in Ghardaia province, while five more will be located in Biskra province. An additional 30 MW of projects are planned for the districts of Meggarine, Nezla and Belhirane, all of which are located in Ouargla province. The remaining two plants totalling 20 MW will be situated in El Oued province.
Successful projects will be developed on a build-own-operate basis and will be awarded 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs). All participants in the tender must provide a bank guarantee for each project amounting to DZD 18 million (USD 151,600/EUR 132,900).
