European solar power developer and independent power producer Alight has signed a grid connection agreement with network operator Caruna in connection with the 100-MW solar project in Eurajoki municipality, Finland.

The developer has also obtained a building permit for the substation that is part of the project, it announced on Monday.

“We are well on our way to reaching our goal of 1.5 GW of solar projects under development by the end of 2024, and as a next step, we will sign a power purchase agreement with a company committed to buying the clean electricity, making the solar park financially viable,” commented Warren Campbell, deputy CEO at Alight.

The solar plant will be constructed on 123 hectares, starting in late 2024. Its completion is planned for early 2026.
