Solar monitoring specialist AlsoEnergy has just bought a sector player in the US and, in addition to that, has agreed a merger with Germany-based solar software and hardware company Skytron Energy GmbH.

AlsoEnergy plans to combine with Skytron to expand as a global provider of renewable energy monitoring, controls and asset management solutions.

Bob Schaefer, AlsoEnergy’s CEO, believes that the tie-up with Skytron will lead to the creation of the industry’s most complete platform for renewables management. “With skytron’s proven utility-scale technologies and AlsoEnergy’s strong commercial, industrial and utility presence, we can now offer our customers complete coverage for all types of assets,” he stated.

At the same time, AlsoEnergy announced it has completed the acquisition of the assets of Draker Corporation, thus beefing up its global portfolio of PV and storage performance management services for the commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale segments.

The two transaction are expected to establish an enlarged company with more than 18 GW of solar PV, wind and storage assets under management, according to the announcement.
