US brewing company Anheuser-Busch said on Tuesday it will seek to cover all of its electricity consumption from renewable energy sources by 2025.

The commitment is part of a strategy building on the 2025 sustainability goals of Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch Inbev (EBR:ABIT), or AB InBev, the parent company of the Missouri-based brewer. Through the renewables goal, Anheuser-Busch will also aim to lower carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) across its value chain by 25% by the same year.

In order to reflect its sustainability efforts, the company will put a 100% renewable electricity symbol on the US packaging of its flagship beer Budweiser. Thus, it will designate its collaboration with Enel Green Power, a unit of Italian utility Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL), under which it already secures 50% of its purchased electricity from wind power.

Apart from renewables, the initiative targets three more key areas focusing on water efficiency, smart agriculture and circular packaging that will see Anheuser-Busch launch water efficiency plans for all of its facilities and ensure all packaging comes from majority recycled content, or will be returnable.

“Our company has been around for 165 years, and these goals will ensure that we continue to make meaningful contributions toward building strong communities and a healthy environment for the next 165 years,” said Michel Doukeris, CEO of Anheuser-Busch.
