Chinese solar tracker manufacturer Arctech Solar Holding Co Ltd (SHA:688408) has received a contract to deliver 240 MW of solar tracking systems for a project in Uzbekistan.

The order, the value of which was not disclosed, was placed by China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (CEEC), Arctech said earlier this week. It comes on the heels of earlier contracts involving the delivery of hardware for a 1-GW photovoltaic (PV) park in Qashqadaryo Viloyati and Buxoro, and a 500-MW solar scheme in Sherabad.

The latest deal concerns the supply of Arctech’s Skyline II solar tracking systems, which will be installed by the client in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. Details about the project timeline and additional information were not available.

Uzbekistan, which currently sources 85% of its power from coal and natural gas and is highly dependent on Russian imports, has set a goal of achieving 5 GW of installed solar power capacity by the end of the decade.
