Renewables rise and Russian gas declines, says EC report
Sep 12, 2024 11:11 CESTDecember 28 (SeeNews) – Areva (EPA:AREVA) will sell its US subsidiary Canberra to local radiation detection and monitoring group Mirion Technologies and its majority owner Charterhouse, the French nuclear group said Thursday in a statement.
Following an in-depth analysis of the offers, the board of Areva has decided to sell the unit to Mirion-Charterhouse, it said.
The transaction is part of troubled Areva’s turnaround plan that envisages refocusing on nuclear fuel cycle processes.
The deal will be discussed with Canberra's works council and is subject to regulatory approval.
The parties expect to finalise the transaction by the end of next year.
Areva announced its plans to divest the US subsidiary, which specialises in nuclear measurement systems and instrumentation, at the end of June.
