Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CEST(ADPnews) - Jun 13, 2011 - Argand Energy Solutions said during the weekend that it would develop a 500-kW solar power facility on the roof of Glen Raven Inc's yarn factory in North Carolina, as part of a USD-3-million (EUR 2.1m) project.
The company will replace the plant's existing roof with a highly-reflective white one that will bolster the solar system's productivity and enhance cooling at the plant. The solar system, to be completed in the autumn of 2011, is estimated to produce enough electricity for 47 local households.
The 500-kW project is the biggest installation under the SunSense commercial solar photovoltaic programme by US utility Progress Energy. The company offers premium price for rooftop solar installations.
