Argentine power company Genneia announced on Monday that it has commissioned its 60-MW Tocota III solar farm in the San Juan province of Argentina, a milestone that helped it reach 1 GW of installed renewables capacity in the country.

The company now has 1,004 MW of operational renewables, distributed between seven wind farms -- Rawson, Madryn, Chubut Norte, Trelew, Pomona, Villalonga and Vientos de Necochea -- and three solar farms -- Ullum, Sierras de Ullum and Tocota III.

Genneia financed the Tocota III project through bond sales and loans. A portion of the proceeds was also used to fund the construction of the 162-MW La Elbita wind farm in Buenos Aires province. La Elbita is due to become operational by the end of 2024, Genneia said.
