Argentina's Pampa Energia unveils 140-MW wind farm in Buenos Aires
Sep 18, 2024 15:27 CESTArgentine smelter Aluar Aluminio Argentino SAIC (BCBA:ALUA) plans to add 81 MW of turbines to its existing wind farm in Argentina’s Chubut province to power its primary aluminium production plant in the region.
In a stock market filing this week, the company said the project would represent the stage four of its Aluar wind farm in Chubut, which currently has 165 MW installed across 45 turbines.
The 81-MW addition will represent an investment of USD 130 million (EUR 119.2m). The stage four section will have 18 wind turbines of 4.5 MW each, which are due to start operations in December 2023.
Construction works are entrusted to Aluar’s engineering and industrial services subsidiary Infa SA, the aluminium producer added.
