Argentine Genneia to build 50-MW wind farm from 2016 - report

Argentine energy company Genneia SA plans to start the construction of a 50-MW wind farm in Puerto Madryn, Chubut province, in the first quarter of 2016, news site Energia Estrategica said Wednesday.

The initial 50 MW, part of Genneia's 220-MW Puerto Madryn undertaking, is to reach commercial operation in nearly 20 months. After that the company will install a further 50 MW, and then the remaining 120 MW.

Genneia is also considering the expansion of its 77.4-MW Rawson wind farm and the construction of additional wind plants that could provide over 300 MW under the reformed renewable energy law.

The company has this week announced that Argentum Investments I Llc has acquired 42.71% of its share capital from Fides Group SA, Alejandro Ivanissevich, Fintech Energy Llc and other shareholders.
