Latin America-focused Atlas Renewable Energy has signed a ten-year deal to supply renewable power to Rede Primavera Saude, which operates two hospitals and six polyclinics in Brazil's Sergipe state.

The power supply will start in 2026, Atlas said on Monday. Under the self-production partnership, the first of its kind in Brazil to serve the healthcare sector, Rede Primavera can save approximately 40% compared to current costs in the free energy market. Altas pointed out that this partnership will allow the hospital network to offset around 260 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.

"Additionally, this agreement will contribute to a new clean energy project within the Brazilian energy matrix, specifically designed to meet the needs of these consumers", the company highlighted.

The conclusion of the deal is subject to the usual conditions for agreements of this nature, which includes receiving the approval of domestic regulators.
