Australian power retailer Zen Energy has signed up to off-take most of the production output generated by Quorn Park Hybrid, an upcoming 98-MWdc solar farm with 20 MW/40 MWh of battery energy storage in New South Wales.

Zen said on Tuesday that it has signed a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with renewables firm Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA), which recently secured financing for the hybrid project.

The Quorn Park solar-plus-storage plant will located on Wiradjuri Country, approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) north west of the town of Parkes and close to the Central West Renewable Energy Zone. The project site is closer in proximity to substantial demand loads compared to many other sites being developed in New South Wales, according to Zen.

Under the PPA, Zen is procuring the equivalent of 68 MW from this project. At full capacity, Quorn Park will be able to supply power to more than 45,000 homes.

Quorn Park is EGPA’s first project in New South Wales. The CEO of the Japanese-Italian green power venture, Werther Esposito, said that EGPA plans to start construction in the coming months and deliver a fully operational plant in the first half of 2026.

EGPA currently has three solar farms in operation in Australia, with a combined capacity of 310 MW. The company is now in the process of commissioning a 76-MW wind farm in Western Australia and a 93-MW solar farm in Victoria.
