Austrian clean energy efficiency solutions provider CLEEN Energy entered the Croatian market through the acquisition of project rights for 23 MWp of renewable energy capacity, it said.

The company holds an option to purchase project rights for a further 50 MWp of capacity in Croatia at a later date, CLEEN Energy said in a statement last week.

The combined 73 MWp renewable energy capacity consists of several photovoltaic projects, as well as four biogas plants, CLEEN Energy said.

CLEEN Energy will be the full owner and operator of the capacity and will receive the entire income from the generation of 124 GWh of electricity annually, the company noted.

The transaction was carried out with the support of Vienna-based consultancy PMa Beratungs, specialising in structuring alternative project financing for real estate, renewable energy, transport and logistics projects.

Including the projects in Croatia, CLEEN Energy now has project rights of 120 MWp of renewable energy capacity in Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy and Dubai.
