Vienna-based renewable energy company Enery Development GmbH announced that it has acquired a 71-MW portfolio of operational solar farms in the Czech Republic from funds managed by CEE Equity Partners Ltd.

The so-called Energy 21 portfolio is made up of 36 solar PV plants, many of them located in the Moravia and Bohemia regions, Enery said.

The acquisition was finalised for an undisclosed price.

Enery will merge the Energy 21 portfolio with its existing solar PV capacity in the Czech Republic, which comes at 21 MW across six solar farms.

Following the acquisition, Enery now owns 45 solar PV plants in operation in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

The CEE and Austria-focused Enery was founded in 2019 by its now CEO Richard Koenig, COO Lukas Nemec and independent power producer RP Global. The company recently completed a capital increase with new investor Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund SA, which acquired a “significant” stake in the target.

CEE Equity Partners is the investment advisor to China-Central and Eastern Europe Investment Cooperation Fund.
