Nordic-Baltic TSOs conclude pre-feasibility study for hydrogen corridor
Sep 09, 2024 10:43 CESTAustrian renewable power producer Enery has commissioned a 20-MWp solar photovoltaic farm in Estonia, its first in the Baltic country.
The plant spans 35 hectares (86.5 acres) of land located near the Rummu settlement. It is the first standalone utility-scale solar farm connected to the transmission network in Estonia, Enery said.
The company is now busy with starting up its second Estonian solar farm -- the 12-MW Jersey located near the village of Jarsi.
“This marks another milestone for our young company, as both projects were developed and constructed by our in-house team. Just 2 years after entering Estonia, we are very proud of this achievement of starting to generate green electricity from our two new power plants,” Enery’s founders Richard Koenig and Lukas Nemec said.
Both Rummu and Jersey are equipped with bifacial modules mounted on solar trackers. Together, the plants will generate around 37.4 GWh of electricity per year.
A co-shareholder in these projects is Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF), a commercial fund targeting infrastructure investments in Central and Eastern Europe, the same region that Enery is focused on.
