US utility holding Avangrid Inc (NYSE:AGR) has finalised the installation of all modules at the site of its 238-MWac/321-MWdc True North solar project in Falls County, Texas.

In a press release on Monday, Avangrid said it had put up more than 488,000 solar panels at True North over the past several months and wrapped up their installation ahead of schedule.

The solar farm generated first power this summer and its commissioning continues. Avangrid’s aim is to commence commercial operation at the end of the current year. The company said that it will soon start construction of a dedicated operations and maintenance facility at the site.

True North will be the largest solar farm in Avangrid’s portfolio and its first solar project in Texas. The company has more than 1,200 MW of wind energy capacity in the state.

Once up and running, the Falls County solar farm will operate under a power purchase agreement with social media company Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META), supplying electricity for its upcoming data centre in neighbouring city of Temple.
