Azeralternativenergy LLC, a company in Azerbaijan under the control of the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (SAARES), is in talks with foreign investors for support for a 200-MW offshore wind project.

Chairman Agshin Bakirzade told Trend News Agency that the park will be located in the Caspian Sea, from Pirallahi to Chilov Island. Investors from China, Canada and from Arab countries have expressed interest in the project, according to the report.

Bakirzade has pointed out that the introduction of a green tariff to support such a project is key for attracting investors.

Plans for a 200-MW wind farm in the Caspian Sea were announced back in 2015.
