Saudi Arabia, Bahrain explore 2 GW solar project - report
Aug 30, 2024 12:04 CESTDec 21, 2011 - The Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday announced a plan to set up a renewable energy and conservation agency to partner with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on solar and wind power project development in the country.
Bahrain has already completed a study on the establishment of the agency.
The kingdom's energy conservation committee, set up five years ago, has worked to conserve large amounts of gas in Bahrain, according to energy minister Abdulhussain Mirza. Also, Bahrain's Natural Oil and Gas Authority and the Electricity and Water Authority are partnering to carry out alternative energy projects.
