World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTFeb 15, 2013 - German wholesale lender BayernLB has arranged the financing for the construction and operation of a 31.5-MW solar park in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the financial institution said Wednesday.
The Barth solar park project is worth around EUR 54 million (USD 72m) and will be the second biggest in the northern state. BayernLB will contribute EUR 43 million to the financing, while the remaining EUR 11 million will be provided by the project developer Renerco Renewable Energy Concepts AG, part of Baywa r.e. GmbH.
Located on the territory of the Stralsund-Barth regional airport, the solar park is expected to produce enough power to supply around 7,500 households per year. It will reduce the CO2 emissions by an annual of 17,300 tonnes.
