Solar components distributor BayWa r.e. Solar Trade, part of global renewables developer BayWa r.e. AG, has sealed a deal to acquire Brazil-focused sector player Ribeiro Solar.

Based in greater Curitiba in the south of Parana, Ribeiro Solar operates as a solar distribution company with warehouse distribution hubs in Parana, Rio Grande do Sul and Pernambuco. Its acquisition will bolster BayWa r.e. Solar Trade’s local foothold and its activities across the Americas, currently encompassing the US, Canada and Mexico.

"Ribeiro Solar's deep-rooted expertise and strong market presence will be instrumental in driving our success in Brazil, and we look forward to combining our strengths to accelerate the adoption of solar energy across the country,” said Daniel Marino, Director of Solar Trade in the Americas at BayWa r.e.

The transaction is expected to be concluded “in the weeks ahead.”
