Italy’s Bee Solar and Chinese solar manufacturer Huasun have signed a pact that will enable the Milan-based company to produce PV products at home using its Chinese partner’s technology.

The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will pave the way for their cooperation in the photovoltaic (PV) segment, the Italian industry ministry said on Friday.

Bee Solar’s plan is to build a PV factory in Italy that will utilise Huasun’s technology and know-how, as well as its relations with equipment manufacturers and material suppliers. The initiative is seen to promote the domestic PV manufacturing segment, while the Chinese firm will benefit from the opportunity to expand its footprint on the European market.

The construction of the PV component production facility is set to commence by March 2025.

“This partnership fully responds to the objective that our countries intend to achieve in the field of green technologies. It is a strategic project, to develop the photovoltaic supply chain in Italy,” said Adolfo Urso, Minister of Economic Development of Italy.
