World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CEST(ADPnews) - Jun 30, 2011 - German photovoltaic (PV) system provider Belectric announced today it commissioned the Wildflecken solar power plant in Bavaria with a capacity of 551 kW.
The facility was built on a former military ground and consists of copper-indium-selenium (CIS) thin-film modules produced by Japanese company Solar Frontier. The plant is expected to generate enough electricity for 158 four-person households each year, preventing the emission of 413 tonnes of CO2.
The solar farm lies within the Rhoen Nature Reserve and Belectric made special efforts to integrate it in the delicate terrain and make it hardly visible.
