Belgian power producer Elicio NV has proposed to build two wind farms totalling up to 60 MW in northern Serbia, a local municipality said.

The wind farms will be located on the wider territory of the city of Pancevo, the municipal authority said on Friday, kicking off the public consultation process.

According to the project documents on the city’s website, the Belgian sponsor seeks to build one 50-MW wind farm, named Elicio Wind 01, using no more than nine turbines. The other one, dubbed Nadel 1, is to have 10 MW installed between two wind turbines, the documents show.

Elicio set up a unit in Serbia in 2013. Since then, it has built two wind farms in the country, with a combined generation capacity of 50 MW.

Besides the two projects in Pancevo, Elicio has another pair in the works in Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina that could reach up to 200 MW, according to its local website.
