Bison Energy advances work on 100-MW solar project in New Zealand
Sep 19, 2024 14:38 CESTUS infrastructure engineering software firm Bentley Systems Inc (NASDAQ:BSY) has inked a deal to acquire geothermal simulation software provider Flow State Solutions in a push to enhance its end-to-end reservoir analysis offering.
The investment is being made through Seequent, The Bentley Subsurface Company, and is aimed at strengthening its position as a subsurface software provider for the geothermal industry capable of providing a full picture of a geothermal asset.
New Zealand-based Flow State Solutions helps project developers and operators better understand geothermal resources for asset development and optimisation and improved well performance. It offers numerical modelling of geothermal reservoirs, reservoir engineering consulting services, resource assessment and well testing analysis and make-up well forecasting services, among others.
"By combining Seequent’s expertise and our technical capability in geothermal modeling, we are looking forward to making a significant contribution to the renewable energy transition through improved management of natural resources,” said Flow State Solutions co-founder Jonathon Clearwater.
Seequent specialises in software for geological and geophysical modelling, geotechnical stability, and cloud services for geodata management, visibility and collaboration. Headquartered in New Zealand, it operates in 120 countries. The data visualisation software firm was acquired by Bentley Systems for USD 1.05 billion (EUR 990m) in 2021.
