World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTSep 19, 2014 - Spanish renewable energy firm Bester Generacion yesterday said it had connected to the grid its third photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the UK with a total installed capacity of 28 MWp.
The facility is located in Tiers Cross, southwestern Wales.
With 113,800 panels installed on fixed structures, the new plant will generate some 31.65 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the energy needs of some 9,000 households. It will also avoid the emission of around 13,450 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year.
The company is already operating other two solar plants in the UK, namely in Essex and Cornwall, southern England. Their capacity totals 26 MWp and they generate 26.5 GWh per year.
Bester Generacion plans to increase its presence in the UK via new turnkey projects. The company also offers operation and maintenance services.
