Norwegian urban furniture maker Vestre AS has signed a solar power offtake agreement with Danish renewables company Better Energy that will help it cover the entire energy consumption of its operations in Sweden.

The 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) is related to Better Energy's newest solar project in Sweden, according to a statement released today.

“As our first corporate PPA, it was important that we purchase enough green electricity to cover the energy consumption of our Swedish operations,” Vestre’s CEO Bjorn Fjellstad said.

The power offtake agreement concerns a solar farm being built near Studsvik, south of Stockholm. The project is being developed without subsidies and on market terms.

The Studsvik solar farm is designed to produce 25 GWh of clean energy annually, an amount enough to power over 4,000 Swedish homes. Expected to be among the largest in the country, the site is scheduled to be connected to the local grid in late 2024.
