EC clears EUR-1.2bn Polish scheme to aid net-zero equipment
Sep 19, 2024 8:42 CESTApr 10, 2012 - German construction group Bilfinger Berger SE (ETR:GBF) said today it has set up a joint venture with two Polish partners to make steel foundations for offshore wind turbines.
Bilfinger Berger holds a 62.5% stake in the tie-up, whereas Polish steel construction firm Crist SA and state-owned investment fund MARS own 25% and 12.5%, respectively. The partners will invest total of EUR 50 million (USD 65.4m) in a facility on the Gryfia island in Poland, which will process 80,000 tonnes of steel and manufacture foundations for 80 wind turbines each year. The plant is scheduled to go on stream in 2014.
With the steel foundation facility, Bilfinger Berger will be able to strengthen its position as a specialist for intelligent civil engineering services in the area of energy and mobility, it said.
